I miss being a free spirited dancer sometimes.
I think the biggest thing I’ve gotten out of this is that people are saying that this “skinny shaming” doesn’t actually happen. But if I wrote about it, it does. It happens to me and my friends all the time—I’ve even caught myself being guilty of it. And all you need to do is read the comments on the article, facebook, and tumblr to know that it does happen. To those who don’t believe it’s an issue, that’s fine you feel that way. But to the much larger majority who appreciated my article and related to it and who have reached out to thank me…you are so welcome. No one should be feel ashamed of, embarrassed by, or guilty for their bodies. We are all gorgeous, no matter our size. <3
